Miravo Motorworks

FAQ

Common questions.
Honest answers.

Everything you need to know before you bring your car to our Dubai Investment Park 2 workshop — and how to keep it running well in the UAE.

About Miravo

Where exactly are you, and how do I find you?

Warehouse 54, Span Precast Compound, Dubai Investment Park 2. It is an industrial estate off the E311 between Jebel Ali and Dubai South, so use the map link rather than looking for a shopfront — the Plus Code X59R+9X drops you on us directly. Parking is outside the unit.

Do you offer a mobile mechanic service?

No. Miravo operates from its workshop in Dubai Investment Park 2 — you bring the car to us. We do not send a technician to your home, office or roadside, and we do not offer roadside recovery.

Can I bring my car straight to the workshop?

Yes. Message or call us first with the make, model and what is wrong so we can tell you what to expect, then drive in. Opening hours are on the contact page.

Do you diagnose the car before repairing it?

Yes. We find the fault first, explain it, and give you the price before any repair starts. We do not replace parts on a guess.

Do you carry out repairs without approval?

No. Nothing is done that you have not approved. If we find something else during the inspection, we explain it and quote it separately, and you decide.

Can you diagnose warning lights?

Yes, where the vehicle supports it. We read the stored fault codes and then test the system to confirm the cause. Some very new or specialist models need dealer-only tools, and we will say so upfront.

Do you work on all car makes and models?

Most Japanese, European, American and Korean cars on UAE roads. We confirm part availability when we quote. For highly specialised vehicles, we may need to source parts in advance.

How is Miravo different from other garages?

Three things, and you can hold us to all of them. You get the price in writing before anything is touched, so nothing appears on the bill you did not agree to. The invoice is itemised. And we hand back the parts we removed, so you can see what you paid for. We are British-owned and run it the way a good UK workshop runs.

Are you RTA-registered?

Miravo operates under a valid Dubai trade licence. We're not an RTA testing centre — we don't issue test certificates — but our services help your car pass RTA inspections by keeping it properly maintained.

How do I know I can trust you?

We show you the old parts we remove. We explain every fault in plain English. We never start work without your approval. We give you a full digital invoice for everything we do.

Booking & Process

Can I wait while you work on the car?

Yes, for shorter jobs — an oil change, a battery, diagnostics. There is seating at the workshop. For anything longer, drop the car off and we will message you when it is ready. Tell us which you would prefer when you book.

Do you service my make?

Almost certainly. We are independent and work across most makes on UAE roads — Toyota, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Mitsubishi, Ford, BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Land Rover and more. If your car needs something genuinely specialist we will tell you straight away rather than take it on and find out halfway.

Does servicing here void my manufacturer warranty?

No. A manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because an independent workshop serviced the car, provided the work follows the manufacturer's schedule and uses parts of the correct specification. That is what we do, and we give you an itemised invoice and the old parts as the record of it. If you are within a dealer service package you have paid for separately, that is a commercial question worth checking — but it is not a warranty question.

How do I get a price before committing?

Message us on WhatsApp with the make, model, year and what the car is doing. For most jobs we can price it from that. If it genuinely needs looking at on the ramp first, we book a workshop assessment and tell you what that costs up front — and if you decide not to proceed, that is all you pay.

Do you take fleet accounts?

Yes, from three vehicles up. Scheduled service rotations, priority workshop slots, a dedicated account manager and one consolidated monthly invoice. See our fleet page or message us to talk it through.

How do I book my car in?

The fastest way is WhatsApp — message us with your car make, model, year, and what you need. We will quote you and confirm a time at the workshop.

How quickly can you fit my car in?

Same-day slots are sometimes available, but it depends on the ramps that day. Message us with what the car needs and we will tell you the earliest we can see it.

What happens if the job takes longer than expected?

We tell you immediately and get your approval before continuing. If extra work is needed beyond the original quote, we explain what we found, what it will cost, and you decide. We never bill more than what you've approved.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

Yes. Message us on WhatsApp as early as you can and we will move your slot. The earlier you tell us, the better the chance of giving that ramp time to someone else.

Pricing & Payment

Do I pay to get a price?

No. Quoting is free. If the car needs looking at on the ramp before we can price the work, that is a workshop assessment and we tell you what it costs before you come in — and if you decide not to go ahead, that is all you pay.

What payment methods do you accept?

Card payment (credit and debit), bank transfer, and cash. All payment is processed after the job is complete and you're satisfied.

Are prices VAT-inclusive?

Yes. Every displayed and quoted price includes 5% UAE VAT — nothing is added at checkout. Your tax invoice shows the VAT breakdown for your records.

Will I get an invoice?

Yes. Every job comes with a full digital invoice itemising parts, labour, and VAT. Sent to your WhatsApp and email immediately after the job.

What if the job costs more than quoted?

We stop and tell you. If we find additional issues during the work, we explain what we found and what it will cost to fix. You approve before we proceed. We never add to the bill without your agreement.

Do you offer a warranty on parts?

Yes. We offer a 12-month warranty on batteries. Other parts are covered by the manufacturer warranty (typically 6–12 months). We source quality parts and can provide documentation on request.

Can I get a quote before committing?

Absolutely. Message us on WhatsApp with your car details and the service you need, and we will quote you — no commitment required. We confirm the figure before the car goes on the ramp, and you approve it before we start.

How do you decide what a job costs?

By the car in front of us, not a list. The price depends on your make and model and the parts it needs, so we quote you before anything is touched — and that quote is what you pay. Every quote includes 5% VAT, and any extra work found mid-job is quoted separately for you to approve or decline.

Car Care — UAE Guide

How often should I service my car in Dubai?

At minimum, annually. In Dubai's heat, we recommend tighter intervals than European manufacturer recommendations — ideally every 7,500–10,000 km or once a year, whichever comes first. The extreme temperatures accelerate wear on oil, fluids, filters, and rubber components.

How often should I change my engine oil in the UAE?

Every 5,000–7,000 km in UAE conditions, rather than the 10,000–15,000 km intervals designed for European climates. Dubai's summer temperatures (regularly above 45°C) degrade engine oil up to 30% faster than in cooler countries. Using longer intervals risks premature engine wear.

How long do car batteries last in Dubai?

Typically 2–3 years in UAE conditions, compared to 4–5 years in Europe or North America. Heat is the number one killer of car batteries — it accelerates the evaporation of battery fluid and the breakdown of internal components. We recommend annual battery health checks after 18 months.

When should I regas my car AC in Dubai?

Most systems need regassing every 2–3 years. In Dubai, we strongly recommend a pre-summer AC check in April or early May — before peak heat (June–September). A failed AC in July traffic at 45°C is a health risk, not just an inconvenience. Bookings are also much easier to get in spring than mid-summer.

What does Dubai heat do to my tyres?

Heat causes air inside tyres to expand — tyre pressure increases by approximately 1 PSI for every 10°C temperature rise. Dubai summer can see 20–30°C road temperature swings between morning and afternoon. Check your tyre pressure in the morning before driving, not after. Under-inflated tyres in heat increase blowout risk.

What are signs my brakes need replacing?

Squealing or grinding when braking, a spongy brake pedal, vibration through the pedal when braking, the car pulling to one side when stopping, or the brake warning light on the dashboard. Any of these means an inspection is needed soon. Grinding specifically means metal-on-metal contact — don't delay.

How does Dubai desert dust affect my engine?

Desert dust clogs air filters 2–3x faster in UAE conditions than in non-desert environments. A clogged air filter restricts airflow to the engine, reducing power and fuel efficiency, and in severe cases can damage the mass airflow sensor. Check your air filter every 10,000 km in Dubai rather than every 20,000–30,000 km as recommended for European conditions.

Should I use synthetic or conventional oil in UAE heat?

Full synthetic is strongly recommended for Dubai's heat. Synthetic oil maintains its viscosity and protective properties at higher temperatures than conventional or semi-synthetic oil. It also flows better on cold starts (relevant in Dubai winter, down to 15–20°C). The additional cost is worth it — your engine agrees.

How do I know if my car needs diagnostics?

Any dashboard warning light is the main signal. Beyond that: rough idle, hesitation or loss of power when accelerating, unusual smells (burning, sulphur, sweet coolant), unexpected fuel consumption increase, or a failed RTA inspection. Our diagnostic service reads all stored fault codes and gives you a plain-English written report.

What is included in a full car service?

A full (major) service includes: engine oil and filter change, air filter replacement, cabin/pollen filter replacement, all fluid level checks and top-ups (brake fluid, coolant, power steering, windscreen washer), spark plug inspection (replacement if due), drive belt and serpentine belt check, tyre pressure check, and a full digital service record. Minor services cover just oil, filter, and basic checks.

Can you service any car make or model?

Yes. We service all makes sold in the UAE — Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Kia, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Land Rover, Ford, Chevrolet, and more. We confirm part availability when you book. For rare or highly specialised vehicles, we may need to source parts in advance.
